Liebe Menschen,

Wir freuen uns über jede kleine oder große Spende! Wir sind uns dessen bewusst, dass die Zeiten in Deutschland härter geworden sind – aber leider sind sie das auch hier. Die Inflation hat hier zu hohen Preisanstiegen geführt, was sich vor allem bei den Kindern mit den Schulgebühren bemerkbar macht. Statt 208€ brauchen sie nun 150€ mehr pro Jahr- pro Kind!

Aber nicht nur dafür würden wir uns über Unterstützung sehr freuen! Es sind viele kleine und große Gruppen in Eigenregie entstanden, die auch schon selber sparen- aber wo ein kleiner finanzieller „Stupser“ große Veränderungen hervorrufen kann!

– Smart Kyakataama – das Geld reicht aufgrund der Inflation nur noch 2 Terms, darum brauchen wir noch Spenden für den letzten Term in 2023
– unser Theater braucht Theatertüren und eine Bodenausbesserung
– das Zentrum soll eine Küche bekommen für Seminare gegen Mangelernährung, Versorgung Unterstützungsbedürftiger Menschen und in Zukunft auch als Café als weitere Einnahmequelle der Bewohner und des Zentrums
– EQUAL Projekt- spenden werden für den Transport und die Versorgung von körperliche behinderten Menschen im Ort benötigt
– unsere women empowerment Catering-Gruppe braucht Kochequipment und Transportkostendeckung

Let it rain or not- our kids can’t hold back and come along to learn from Brian. He has kind of his own “Fanclub” and they love playing or learning with him.

Brian asks to write a poem, they write a poem. He thinks they should learn some mathematics with him – they learn math.

And who’s up for playing football or volleyball or just take some pens and dran pictures, will always find others to join.

Every Saturday starting at 2pm at the theater.

A month ago we reached out to the women in the village. So far we had a women empowerment group with handcraft involved, but wanted to know what else the women would like to do, what are their main issues, how we could help each other.

80 women came. Since then we meet twice a week. We discuss, invite successful women from other villages, ask questions, play games and formed three groups to aim all for the same need: financially independency and stability and equal rights.

The catering group is learning from our friendship group Sky Hope how to organize themself to offer catering skills at weddings in the village e.g.

Also a big tailoring group is organizing themself and smaller groups coming together.

On top the women started an African feminism discussion and film club, which want to come up with their own podcast.

Without a doubt we can say: our women rock!💪🏽❤️

Jonathan was left together with two other children from different parents at his grandma place, when he was a baby. The mother left for Kampala and was never to be seen again.

The grandmother tried hard to take care for the kids but didn’t manage to send him to school.

Luckily we found a sponsor 4 years ago for him, so he can go to school and follow his dreams

Kansiime Prossy came to us at the beginning of this year. After her father passed away, Kansiime had moved with her mother to her father’s family in our village. The little girl was quite reserved and pensive until she found a school sponsor thanks to Smart Kyakataama. She has made many friends at school and in the neighborhood by now. And when the drumming group on Toonda really gets going, Kansiime is there in the front row as their biggest fan. 🥁

We were very worried about Reagan when we saw him again at the beginning of the school this year. His mother had tried very hard to take good care of him, but he was still malnourished. Thanks to our great sponsors, we were able to give him medical treatment and even send him to a boarding school where he gets regular food and drink.

Auch Uganda hat die Inflation erreicht: Die Kosten der Schulmaterialien sind um 30-50 % gestiegen. Gleichzeitig werden die Schulgebühren aus denselben Gründen erhöht und es gibt extra Kosten für weitere Unterrichtsstunden für die 2jährige Coronabedingte Zwangspause.

After teaching some basic moves they would battle for the rest of the day.

A couple of kids had lyrics ready and it looks like we’re going to have a ladies Hip Hop Crew forming up.
