Kisekka Samson was a successful part of our last “Art of Change”-exhibition “Ubuntu” in Fort Portal and Hamburg . We’re delighted to have him back at Toonda as our Artist in Residency with workshops about Digital Art for young adults from 19th to 25th August.
Kisekka Samson was born and raised in Rubaga, Kampala, Uganda, on October 15th, 2001, as a young visual artist and a self- discovered talent. From a tender age, he honed his skills through self-teaching, delving into the world of art with an insatiable curiosity. Currently, he finds his creative sanctuary part time at Dormiarts in Mengo and Authentic Visions by Ahwera in Ntinda. Specializing in digital art, he passionately crafts digital paintings, with a keen focus on portraying emotions and expressions through captivating portraits. His artwork serves as a medium to convey profound messages, speaking volumes through the subtle nuances of human emotions.
We’re delighted to welcome artist Irene Jenilla from Kampala as one of three artists on residence this August 🥰 Next to be inspired by our little community, she’s going to share her knowledge with kids and teens and adults in enlightening art workshops from August 19th to 25th.

Her works are a testament to her boundless creativity and unwavering commitment to storytelling, with each piece offeringa glimpse into the vibrant mosaic of African life.
Today is the starting signal for the construction of our library. With the help of great donors, we can afford a village library that will also become a meeting place for the community.
Under the direction of engineer Dennis, a marvellous brick building with a great view over our Crater Lakes landscape will be built. Dennis is from our village and has worked his way up to a degree in civil engineering. A tremendous achievement by him and his parents. We are very proud that someone from our village is leading the construction of our library.
We will keep you up to date with the construction as we order books and come up with activities to get the neighbourhood excited about books!
