Art and theatre can have a positive influence on the self-confidence of everyone, but especially of young people, and promote other approaches to problem-solving.
Four programmes, one stage
The arts at Toonda run through everything – a stage in use almost every day, a residency house for visiting artists, an online and on-site workshop programme, and a music lab supporting female contemporary composers.

Toonda Stage
The multifunctional theatre built in 2021, in use almost every day – music, drumming, movie nights, workshops – plus the volleyball pitch and daily sport.

Residencies for international and regional artists, living on the grounds and working alongside local artists and neighbours.

The annual Cultural Gala
Each year the stage hosts the Cultural Gala – a competition and presentation of folkloric dance groups of the region, sponsored by the German Embassy Kampala.
Cultural dance and music groups rehearse on site through the year, alongside painting and handcrafting workshops, kids activity Saturdays for trying out new art methods, and talent competitions in music and art.
